Do you like to upcycle clothes? Do you like to do hand sewing, such as embroidery or sashiko? What about mending clothing with an under patch with some fancy stitching, or weaving with colored floss? If this sound like fun to you, then this is the class for you!

We do have some supplies available; however, you are welcome to bring your own favorite sewing notions such as: needles (sewing, embroidery, darning), pins (straight & safety pins), embroidery floss, small embroidery scissors & fabric marking pens.

Beginners Lap Quilt
This workshop is for the beginner who wants to learn how to make a quilt from start to finish!
This workshop is for the beginner who wants to learn how to make a quilt from start to finish! There are three main stages: Making the Quilt Top, Free Motion the layers together, and Binding. First, you will make the quilt top by learning how to cut fabric using a rotary cutter properly to avoid accidently cutting yourself. You will learn how to use quilting rulers, gain an understanding of basic sewing terminology, and the difference between pressing fabric and ironing. You also will be able to sandwich the quilt top that you pieced together and quilt it, by learning a simple free motion stitch that can be done on the machine too! Afterwards you will learn how to bind it, the final process of making a quilt.
The sewing room is located on the second floor. and the studio has 2 straight stitch industrial sewing machines available to use, however it is encouraged for you to bring your own if you have one. It is recommended to have a membership while you are taking this workshop, especially if you don’t have your own sewing machine, so you can work on your project between classes. This class runs biweekly until you finish your quilt, generally 4 classes are needed.

You will need the following supplies for this workshop: For the FIRST CLASS--10 coordinating Fat Quarters (18”x22”) fabrics, and Thread to match your fabric (NOT Coats & Clarks brand). It looks like a cross between quilting and stained glass but it isn’t. This is “fabric painting” without sewing, using colorful fabric pieces tucked into pre-cut grooves to create your design. Create a one of a kind acrylic pour art mug!
Create a one-of-a-kind mug just for you! Using the basic concepts of Acrylic Pour, you can make a fancy mug for your daily cup of coffee or tea. You will be able to pick your colors and mix your paints with acrylic flow medium. The mugs will need to be coated with a protective sealant after they dry and will need baked afterwards. Therefore, participants will need to return to pick up their mugs after they have been sealed.

Easter bread is a braided sweet dough bread that is soft and fluffy and can incorporate the use of color decorative eggs as part of the process. Typically braided into loaves or rings. Learning objectives include ingredients and recipe

• Shaping the loaves
• Baking
• Icing and decorating
Since easter occurs early in April – what you learn at our March class can be used to make your own bread for the easter holiday. Dazzle your friends and be a hit at any Sunday Easter Dinner when you show up with a loaf of easter bread. It also makes a great Easter Gift.

T-shirt Quilt Class
For the confident beginner who already knows how to use a sewing machine but needs some guidance on making a T-shirt quilt.
This workshop is for the confident beginner who already knows how to use a sewing machine but needs some guidance on making a T-shirt quilt. This is an easy wall hanging that uses nine of your favorite T-shirts to showcase, however you can make a throw/lap size quilt using a few additional T-shirts.
The first class will be preparing your shirts. You will be cutting up the T-shirts and interfacing pieces to fuse them to each of the T-shirt fronts or backs, depending on which part you are using. We’ll discuss the different options of making T-shirt quilts. You will decide how you would like to layout your shirt blocks and what fabrics you will need to bring to the next class.Supplies needed for the FIRST class: Minimum of 9 clean T-Shirts with logos, and 1½ yards of lightweight fusible interfacing If you plan to make additional T-shirt quilts beyond this class, I highly suggest you purchase a T-Shirt Transformation Ruler (this accommodates 10” 12” or 15” blocks) and a 45mm rotary cutterThe sewing room is located on the second floor and the studio has 3 straight stitch industrial sewing machines available to use, however it is encouraged for you to bring your own if you have one.NOTE: This is an ongoing workshop depending on your skill level, it might take 2-4 classes for you to finish. Pysanky Egg Class
Pysanky are real eggs that are not painted, but have been "written" with bees wax and submerged in dyes batik style to create one of a kind designs. Traditionally Eastern European, and made during Lent, this ancient art form dates back many hundreds of years. Although there are more modern methods, I promote the original process, using a candle, a tool called a kistka, beeswax, and specialized dyes. All necessary items will be provided, and everyone takes home a completed egg at the end of class.
